The main difference between the two is the addition of a divided piston within the damping circuit that keeps the nitrogen charge separate from the damping oil for more reliable performance under heavy use. If you like to dive into corners or just appreciate a responsive ride, the S36D will be a huge improvement over your stock shocks .

Like all Ohlins shocks, the S36D utilize precision machining on all componentry, allowing for a low friction, high performance design. The wide range of preload adjustments allows you to soften or stiffen the ride, and can also accommodate many riders varying in weight.
